Christmas Cards 2012

One of my favourite things to do is to make cards...
This year I started with Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage and her Christmas Home 6x6 paper pad .  Love the colours of Christmas Cottage.  So I will start with some of the Christmas Cottage Cards.  The first one is one I used Teresa's new Cricut cartriage December 25 and cut the word Sparkle.
I glittered and glittered, experimenting with spray adhesive and glue pens and finally stickles.
Martha Stewart glitter around the edge using double sided score tape.

Can you see I like this pattern on the paper, Teresa often says if you don't like one side turn it over because you are likely to like that side. I've used tags and twine from Christmas Cottage.  The deer is Tim Holtz Reindeer die with Teresa's paper glued to chipboard using Helmar V2 spray adhesive.  I like this because the paper doesn't separate or wrinkle from the chipboard.  The paper border is Tim's vintage lace strip die.  A little bling on the deer's eye and the star is Tim's ideology line.

This one is special because it is for my father who worked with the CNR as a conductor and brakeman, engineer.

I love how this turned out using Rangers glass and frames.  Inside I put empheria of trains.  The clock is Teresa's on Tims chain.  Adding the twine and borders from Christmas Cottage.

Next, is very simular to the first reindeer card....well the die does cut 2 deer right.

I love this one too, using Christmas Cottage, December 25 and twine borders and a Christmas tree charm.

I've enjoyed making these Christmas 2012 Card designs and I hope you have enjoyed looking at them.  I always appreciate your comments.

Until next time
I'll be creating what I love.

Simon Says Stamp and Show THE Wendy Vecchi Style!

I have been collecting Wendy Vecchi stuff for the past year and this is my first attempt at putting together some art.  I chose a sewing theme because I have been sewing since  I was 5 years of age....I am now 58  so you can see this has been a huge part of my life.

I used parts from Maya Road Still Sew Cute Chipboard Set.  Buttons from Lost and Found.  Tim Holtz idea-ology light bulbs, Hanger is from 7 gypies I believe  I also used a hanger, safety pin, hitch fastener, mini fasteners and swivel clasp from Tim's collections.  The background is from Tim Holtz Kraft Resist paper stash.  The Wendy Vecchi art parts is from the Studio 490 Sample Pack and Dress Forms & more.

I have used Tim Holtz's distress stains in antique linen, wild honey and faded jeans.  I also used Tim's distress inks in Barn Door, bundled sage and frayed burlap.    I made a perfect pearl spray using Green Patina and bundled sage reinker.  The ribbon is Tim Holtz's dyed with antique linen distress stain.  The ring on the hand is a crystal from Imaginisce.

The stamps I used were from Wendy Vecchi's Destination Art and Art by Hand.  I also used Tim Holtz's stamp from World Traveller, and Psychedelic Grunge.  The ink used for the stamps is Archival Ink in coffee and Jet Black.

Authentique Paper October Sketch Challenge "Card"

The Authentique Paper Sketch Challenge for October might seem simple enough for a card but it is it's simplicity that lends itself to become beautiful and inspiring.   You will certainly want to stop by: http://authentiquepaper.blogspot.com/2011/10/october-sketch-challenge.html and see this months sketches.

I really enjoyed putting together this card today and I love the colours in the blissful collection

The Blissful collection and the back side of "Paradise" Paper was used along with a border from the Tabloids and some Foundation Bi-Fold Solid Paper in Yellow.  The same Foundation was used in the solid grey for the sentiment tab.  I love the penny farthing from the tabloids and attached it the the tab with some yellow ribbon. The sentiment is a rub-on from my stash.  The flower is Maya Road and the hat pin is Teresa Collins Bling.  I distressed all the edges of the card parts with Tim Holtz mustard seed distress ink.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and please do leave me a comment.

Express the Moment Double Header, Part 2

What a fantastic sketch from Pagemaps for September.   http://pagemaps.blogspot.com/2011/09/express-moment-double-header-part-2.html

This is my Entry

I chose a fall scene as the leaves here are at their peak.  I took some of these pictures from the park beside our home and felt they fit perfectly with the sketch.
I used Bo-Bunnys new Fall line of paper- Forever Fall Nature
The background paper is from Core'dinations.
The leaves are die cut using Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves Bigz Die by Sizzix
I also used Tim Holtz Falling Leaves Stamp set and stamped them on Wendy Vecchi's Clearly for Art Film using StazOn ink in blazing red and black.
Flowers are Prima that I added some rock candy Distress Stickles to and added a brad from a older Bo-Bunny collection.
Journaling Card is from RojeMoka Design.
Border stamp is from Pinkpaislee, house of three Soiree using Colorbox Petal Point Pigment inkpad in turquoise and added just a little clear stardust pen to the dots.
The little dragon fly is a brad from my stash.

Thank you for visiting my blog and comments are always appreciated.
